What does the front of the Sugar Defender label say?
The front reads SUGAR DEFENDER, with "SUGAR" in red and "DEFENDER" in white on black. A gold band says "BLOOD SUGAR SUPPORT FORMULA."
The bottom line gives the form and size: dietary supplement, 60 mL (2 fl oz). Red blood-cell art decorates the lower band.
The front words are branding. The facts that count are on the panel, and they come first in any honest read.
How do you read the Sugar Defender Supplement Facts panel?
Read it top down. First comes the serving size of 1 mL and 60 servings per container, then the nutrients and the blend, then the other ingredients.
Chromium (as chromium picolinate) is the only line with its own amount: 0.7 mcg. The herbal blend follows with one total of 200 mg for all 22 ingredients.

What does % DV mean on the Sugar Defender ingredients label?
% DV shows how much one serving gives toward a Daily Value, the amount used as a reference for a day. Chromium shows 2%.
The Daily Value for chromium is 35 mcg, so 0.7 mcg is 2% (NIH ODS, Chromium). Studies of chromium and glucose used about 200 to 1,000 mcg a day (NIH ODS, Chromium).
The blend reads "Daily Value (DV) not established." That is a plain admission that there is no reference amount for it.
| Label line | What it says | What it leaves out |
|---|---|---|
| Serving size 1 mL | One full dropper is about one dose | No time of day |
| Servings per container 60 | One bottle, 60 days at the label dose | Not the order page's 30 days |
| Chromium 0.7 mcg, 2% DV | A tiny printed amount | Far under studied doses |
| Proprietary Herbal Blend 200 mg | Total weight and order, most to least | Single amounts not published |
Why are the blend amounts missing from the label?
US rules let a supplement list a proprietary blend by its total weight, with the ingredients in order of predominance (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). Single amounts can stay private.
Order still gives a ceiling. The ingredient in place k holds at most 200 divided by k milligrams in each mL. Maca, first, may hold up to 200 mg; gymnema, eighth, no more than 25 mg.
An even split gives about 9 mg each. The truth lies somewhere between, and only the maker knows where.
- First on the list: maca root
- Last on the list: L-carnitine base
- Hidden: every single amount
What do the warnings and the small print mean?
The label says the product is not intended for anyone under 18. The label sends pregnant or nursing women, and anyone on other medication, to a physician first.
It also says not to use it if the safety seal is missing or broken, and to use it only as directed. The dagger statement says FDA has not evaluated the claims and the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease.
That last line matters. Supplements get no FDA approval before they are sold (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements). See the Sugar Defender supplement facts for the full transcript.
Show the label to your doctor or pharmacist, and keep taking any medicine you were prescribed.
What are the other ingredients on the label?
Five are listed: deionized water, organic citrus extract, natural flavors, stevia (steviol glycosides) and xylitol.
They make the liquid and sweeten it. Xylitol is dangerous to dogs (FDA, Paws Off Xylitol), so keep the bottle away from pets.
The label has no allergen line that we can see, so ask the order desk if you have a food allergy.
